The dreaded 14th February

Am I the only one on this planet that hates the 14th February??? I hate it with a passion.

So what is Valentines day and seriously what does it mean for us singletons out there?

WELL… I will tell you, its the day where everyone in the world seems to be flaunting there other half or crying that they are alone on this day.

In my opinion, it is just another day on the calendar… I still had to get up at the crack of dawn and get ready for work and go to work and actually do some work… nothing special about the day other than maybe I went with a theme.

To have a different mindset about this day I went with a red theme… I painted my nails, I stuffed my fat little fingers into a ring that I got in highschool… which fitted till about after lunch when I could feel the blood pulsating in my finger and it was time to come off and get lost in my drawer till next year.

I bought my mother a Valentines gift a whole bunch of neck scarves… she is just like her late Aunty… they don’t go anywhere without that scarf. My even managed to buy myself a red coffee carrier mug… if I don’t spoil myself, who will???? LOL

The bank managed to delivery cupcakes for us at the office… but that doesn’t count. I mean after all the interest and bank charges they charge, they could have at least bought me an expensive gift… not a cupcake… that is just not acceptable.

For Sunday tea time I did manage to make a heart shaped cake. I saw a video on you tube where you can take a square and a round cake and cut the round cake in half and stick it on the sides of the square cake and magic you have a round cake… I tried it out and it came out perfect. I used a red velvet cake batter and decorated the top with red butter cream icing and some silver balls…. Whose says I am not romantic???
